Custom Packaging for 27.5 Tonne Hoist Drum

AXIS designed and manufactured a heavy-duty transport platform specifically engineered to support 27.5 tonnes, incorporating reinforced structural members together with threaded rods and eye-nut assemblies to provide secure, purpose-designed tie-down points. Custom laminated timber cradles were fabricated to match the profile of the hoist drum, ensuring it remained correctly positioned and fully supported throughout transport.

The completed transport platform and cradles were delivered to the client’s facility, where a controlled work area was established to safely carry out the loading operation. Using overhead cranes, the hoist drum was carefully lowered onto the pre-positioned cradles, allowing the load to be aligned precisely in its required transport and installation orientation.

Heavy-duty restraint systems were then strategically installed to secure the hoist drum without affecting its position or placing unnecessary stress on the component. The engineered combination of the transport platform, custom cradles, and carefully planned restraint system provided exceptional load stability while allowing the drum to remain in its final installation orientation throughout the entire journey. The finished solution enabled safe handling, efficient transport, and immediate installation readiness upon arrival at site.
