AXIS encapsulated the entire 10-metre vessel and outboard motor using heavy-duty 200Um heat-shrink wrap, creating a durable, weather-resistant protective barrier suitable for both road and sea transport. The rapid turnaround enabled the customer to meet the scheduled freight cut-off without disruption, avoiding costly delays and keeping the shipment on schedule.
To enhance the durability of the packaging, AXIS engineered a custom webbing system that reinforced the shrink wrap, prevented flapping under highway wind loads, and significantly reduced the risk of tearing during transit. Particular attention was given to securing vulnerable areas and maintaining consistent tension across the wrap to provide maximum protection throughout the journey.
Once completed, the fully encapsulated vessel was ready for immediate transport, with the shrink-wrap system providing reliable protection against moisture, dirt, UV exposure, and general handling throughout both stages of the shipment. The finished solution ensured the boat and outboard motor arrived in New Zealand in the same condition in which they left the AXIS facility.
