VCI Liquid GVL400 TDS

VCI Liquid GVL400 TDS

GreenVCI® GVL400 is a water-based, peelable volatile corrosion inhibitor engineered to offer temporary corrosion protection and UV shielding for a range of metal surfaces. Upon application, this product creates a thin and transparent film that dries quickly, facilitating easy removal from metal parts. GVL400 is suitable for use in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Method of Application

For optimal performance, surface preparation is essential. Before use, ensure thorough removal of any oil, grease, and minor rust. GVL400 can be applied through dipping, brushing, or spraying, utilizing an electric portable mini handheld mixer or similar methods.

After the initial application of a 0.1mm coating has dried, it is advisable to apply a second coating for enhanced effectiveness. The drying period for GVL400 typically ranges from 20 to 40 minutes at 25°C. The full peelable dry time is approximately 2 to 4 hours.

Application Field

GVL400 is recommended for the protection of auto parts, machinery and heavy equipment surfaces. Protection covers scratches, corrosion and contamination. GVL400 can be used on a wide variety of metals such as copper, brass, aluminum, cast iron, carbon steel, stainless steel, and other ferrous metals.

VCI Functional Challenge

  • Climate Chamber Corrosivity (3 Cycles) compliant
  • 1 Cycle = [(50 +/-2)°C * (97+/-3) % RH*16hr & Room temperature * 8hr]
  • “Green” VCI raw materials
  • Water soluble
  • 100% No secondary amines
  • 100% No nitrite
  • TRGS 615 & REACH (SVHC) compliant
  • RoHS compliant

GVL400 provides corrosion protection for a duration of 6 to 8 months when air-sealed. Approximately one kilogram of GVL400 can cover 4 to 5 square meters of surface area. The quantity of product required for application should be adjusted based on the surface area and capacity of the metal.

To prevent damage due to freezing, it’s best to store GVL400 in a location where it will not freeze. When working with wet GVL400, thorough cleaning of tools after use is important to prevent residue from drying on the surface. In case the coating has already dried on the tools, it can be peeled off.

It is recommended to apply GVL400 within a working temperature range of 5 to 35°C. Before applying GVL400 to a large surface area, conducting a test is advisable to ensure desired results are achieved.

Metal Protection

GVL400 gives general multi-metal corrosion protection for varied metals such as copper, cast iron, aluminum, brass, stainless steel, carbon steel and other ferrous metals.
