GreenVCI® GVR100 presents a volatile corrosion inhibitor (VCI) additive masterbatch formulated with low-density polyethylene (LDPE), ideal for the production of VCI film, VCI stretch film, and VCI woven film. To ensure optimal performance, it’s essential to thoroughly blend GVR100 with LDPE masterbatch before blown extrusion. The recommended temperature for blown extrusion ranges from 160 to 170 °C to achieve stable VCI impregnation, although GVR100 exhibits resilience to extrusion coating and casting production temperatures up to 290 °C.

The specific loading rates for GVR100 may vary depending on factors such as desired industrial VCI performance standards, storage duration, the type of metal being safeguarded, and environmental storage conditions. For instance:

  • To achieve standard TL 8135-0002 vapour inhibitor ability (VIA) results in VCI film mono-layer blown extrusion at 80-100 microns, blend 3% of GVR100 with LDPE by weight.
  • For standard contact corrosivity protection of VCI woven film during extrusion coating with a molten polymer layer ranging from 10 to 25 microns, mix 6-8% of GVR100 with LDPE by weight.
  • For standard contact corrosivity protection of VCI stretch film during casting production, incorporate 1-2% of GVR100 with polymer weight.

It’s important to store the VCI masterbatch properly at room temperature to uphold its efficacy over time.


To guarantee the efficacy of VCI masterbatch packaging, adherence to specific guidelines is paramount. Firstly, it’s advisable to store the packaged products away from direct sunlight, high temperatures, heat, and moisture. Additionally, the application of VCI liquid packaging should occur in environments with stable temperature conditions.

Controlling humidity levels is also crucial to safeguard the packaged products from corrosion. Before usage, conducting testing is recommended to confirm that the VCI liquid is suitable for your specific requirements and conditions. By diligently following these steps, you can optimize the protection provided by VCI liquid for your metal products.
